Three Top Lip Enhancement Strategies

By Robin Derry

Look in the mirror carefully. Remember how full your lips looked when you were younger? Is it possible that your lips are shrinking? And what about those annoying lip lines that only look more noticeable when you try to camouflage them with make-up?

The truth always hammers away at our illusions, but it's basically true. As you've aged, lip muscles have tensioned to cause lip wrinkles. Meanwhile, the actual volume of your lips has slowly diminished. Lip tone and firmness has "flattened out". Worse yet, past luscious lip color has slowly paled.

Getting Control Over Upper Lip Wrinkles.

Smokers accept that they'll create lip wrinkles. However, if you're one of the millions of women who've never smoked, then you're right to be frustrated by the emergence of these fine lip wrinkles and lip lines. For awhile, ordinary cosmetics gave the cover-up necessities to make you look OK. However, time pecks away and now those lip lines have deepened and make-up only produces garish colored shadow-lines...creating an eye-catching draw to your wrinkles.

Plump Lip Strategy #1 - Lip Enhancement Surgery With Collagen.

Purified and safe FDA approved bovine collagen material is "harvested" from source beasties, placed in a refrigerated vial and delivered "fresh" each day to cosmetic surgeons performing collagen lip enhancement surgery. You'll receive a local anesthetic in order to numb the treatment area. Based on your lip size and shape, along with the depth or volume of the lip lines, the ideal amount of collagen is carefully injected. Results? You get luscious lips once again.

Kissable Lip Strategy # 2 - Lip Enhancement Surgery With Fat.

Who'd ever think that your fat butt might be the source of "material" to create full sensuously curved lips? Such a transfer happens all the time as women re-create their lip shape by undergoing lip enhancement surgery using their body's own spare "stores" of fat as the source material. Using your own body fat keeps the matter "in-house", removing any health risk of tissue rejection which can occur when you inject fat cells harvested from an animal or another human. Adding just 10% to 20% additional volume to your lips will make a world of difference. More firm sensuous plump lips create a beautiful smile, plus reduce lip wrinkles.

Luscious Lip Strategy # 3 - Lip Enhancement Surgery With Synthetics.

A technology break-through enjoyed by millions of men and women since the 1990's is the treatment of lip wrinkles and lip lines using completely synthetic injectable materials, such as proprietary Restylane or Hydrafill. Over lunch you can receive Restylane treatment to fill-in medium to deep creases, lines, folds along with "crows feet" lines.Synthetic fillers like Restylane are designed with three different "strengths" or viscosity, in order to achieve different semi-permanent results. Your dermatologist and you need to carefully determine how much change you're seeking, and which grade of synthetic matches your needs.

Watch Out For The Overly Plump Lip Fiasco!

Getting the right look means choosing the right cosmetic surgeon. Only trust someone with a proven track record in lip augmentation surgery. You must act defensively, because leaving the out patient surgery center with a crooked smile or with unnaturally large and plump lips would be devastating. Everyone would instantly notice...especially when a major mistake occurs.

How Long Do Lip Augmentation results "Hold"?

Any lip injection therapy will be semi-permanent. Bio-sourced collagen and fat will eventually become absorbed by your body. Your results from these bio-sourced lip fillers is counted on one hand, from 2 to 4 months maximum. Synthetics may last twice that long, or up to 9 months before re-treatment is necessary.

Learn more about lip enhancement treatments, costs, health risks, what takes place in the treatment, how to choose the right cosmetic surgeon and more.

Lip Enhancement With Collagen : http://www.beauty2morrow.com/face/lip-collagen.htm

Lip Enhancement Surgery Guide: http://www.beauty2morrow.com/face/lip-surgery.htm

Author Robin Derry is publisher for http://www.beauty2morrow.com/, a specialty information site that gives solutions to body image and body shaping needs.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Robin_Derry

Annie
Add me on Facebook
didn't check my new blogs? you don't know what you'r missing ;)
Nail Care Tips Blog
Lip Gloss Tips Blog
Eye Makeup Tips Blog
<!--

Everywhere you turn you see models on magazine covers with impossibly full, pouty lips. Were they all really born with naturally fabulous lips, or did they get a little help from a good "cosmeceutical" lip plumper?

What are Cosmeceuticals?

Cosmeceuticals are the marriage of cosmetics and pharmaceutical-type technology. They are the modern marvel of the cosmetics world that allow women to nonsurgically alter their appearance dramatically, and without trauma, needles or scalpels. Examples of cosmeceuticals are as follows:

1.) Advanced lip plumpers that deliver deep hyrdration and plumping agents as microparticles beneath the skin, or transdermally, which plump the lips dramatically and usually can last for hours.

2.) Wrinkle fillers such as the touted "botox alternatives" with the temporary wrinkle filling, or skin plumping ingredient hyaluronic acid.

3.) Acne refining products and antiaging in-home treatments that mimic the effects of in-office treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels and laser therapy.

4.) Breast Enhancing and enlarging supplements, serums and creams which can enhance fullness and size of breasts.

5.) Cellulite or fat reduction creams, gels and serums which claim to help break down cellulite and reduce thigh circumference.

These are just some examples in the realm of natural cosmetic enhancement that fall in the same category as natural lip plumpers and lip enlargement products.

Signs of a Good Lip Plumper

Look for customer reviews on lip plumpers before you invest. Good lip enhancers will usually show some type of a review or maybe even a before and after picture of typical results from product use. If there are not pictures, then you should be able to see some sort of written testimonials. Also, reputation counts for a lot! Word of mouth, no pun intended, lends a lot of credibility to any cosmetic product.

Look for emollient ingredients (moisturizing) and stay away form too many "acids" or alcohols, as they only will result in dried out, parched lips that only stay plumped for about a half hour, and only work by irritating the outer layer of the lip which results in flushing and temporary plumping.

I can think of a few I've tried that fit into this category. I won't mention names, but let's just say you should stay away from any that are a "lip plumping gel". It's important the the product uses a creamy base, not a gel base, which will only dry and crack your lips.

My favorite lip plumper is one that actually delivers moisture in a cream base along with microspheres of collagen that are supposed to transdermally absorb into the lips, noticeably plumping and moisturizing your lips for hours at a time. It also gives a slight sheen to your lips that doesn't feel gooey or tacky.

Ask and You Shall Receive

Fuller, plumper lips can definitely be yours, without surgery or needles. You just have to know which ones work, and with use you will definitely see a noticeable difference in the fullness, moisture, and plumpness of your lips. I know I have my personal favorites, and the reason I like these particular lip enhancing products over others is that they do not dry my lips out at all, yet they plump them. As long as you can find one that does the job without parching your pout, you've got a winner!

Visit Natural Lip Enlargement for information on effective natural lip enlargement products. And thanks to laser hair removal techniques, they don't have to. But, since this service is relatively new in comparison to good old fashion shaving or waxing, many who might benefit from it tend to shy away. When performed by a qualified professional, however, laser hair removal is a great way to remove unwanted hair.

But making the decision to get a laser hair removal procedure done is a big one. The best way to make the choice is to be informed about the procedure and what to expect.

The following questions and answers can help you make an informed decision about laser hair removal.

Who seeks out laser hair removal?

Just about anyone who wants to have unwanted hair removed. Laser hair removal techniques are ideal for removing hair from a number of places and are sought out by both men and women of virtually any age.

How does it work?

Laser hair removal involves the use of a laser light to remove unwanted hair. It can be used to remove hair on the face, neck, chest, underarms, legs and more. Even the bikini line can be included. A number of different lasers are used, depending on the professional handling the procedure, and when it's performed by a qualified operator, laser removal is considered quite safe.

Can anyone get laser hair removal done?

The answer to that is yes and no. Some skin types respond better than others and those with tans might have to wait until the tans fade to have the procedure done. A qualified professional is the best to decide who can and cannot have laser hair removal procedures performed.

What kind of hair is laser removal effective on?

Generally, laser hair removal is most effective on hair that's short and visible. This means a candidate will need to shave before the removal is done, but with enough time to have some stubble grow back.

Is laser treatment permanent?

Yes and no. Although it's considered permanent, some hair may grow back over time. Remember, too, that depending on the area being treated, multiple treatments may be necessary to remove hair. On the upside, the hair that grows back, tends to be lighter and finer and if it does grow back, it takes a lot of time to do so. There shouldn't be a need for shaving or waxing for a long, long time.

Is it costly?

The prices for laser hair removal will vary from location to location. In general, it's a few hundred dollars per treatment.

Are there side effects?

Some people may experience minor swelling or redness in the area for a short while. Generally the side effects are minimum and go away quickly.

There's no reason for someone with unwanted hair to have to deal with the trials of shaving day in and day out. With laser hair removal techniques proving themselves more and more effective, this route is a viable option for many.

Copyright (c) 2006

Aaron Vaughn writes about laser hair removal and you can find more news and innovations about hair removal at the website Search Laser Hair Removal .

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Aaron_Vaughn

Annie
Add me on Facebook
didn't check my new blogs? you don't know what you'r missing ;)
Nail Care Tips Blog
Lip Gloss Tips Blog
Eye Makeup Tips Blog
<!--

Full lips are definitely a sign of “youth” but what happens to our lips when we begin to mature? Lips become thinner, less attractive and pretty soon, one just might give up wearing lipstick because the top lip virtually disappears, especially when smiling. When this shrinking act is apparent in the mirror, usually vertical lines begin to invade the lips making a mature women look positively ancient.

Women aren’t the only ones who want softer, fuller lips. Men whose lips are thin and hard may portray a steely attitude in the boardroom; however, men with fuller lips look more attractive, boyish and younger.

Lips are soft tissue and as a man or woman begins to mature, volume dissipates which means tissue shrinks.

There are many modalities for revitalizing soft tissue in lips; the old standby – bovine collagen, Zyderm® and Zyplast® has competition. Restylane®, CosmoDerm® and ComoPlast® (human {cadaver} collagen), Radiance®, Artecoll® and others have entered the market of “fillers”. These new fillers do not require skin testing for allergic reactions and they are all injected. The procedure time varies from 3-10 minutes and some patients relate that these types of injections can be painful. These services can be relatively expensive because they’re not permanent fixes and these injections must be repeated every few months to maintain lip fullness. The most common side effect, as with any injection, is redness, bruising and swelling at the injection site that typically last less than three weeks.

A more permanent lip procedure that is widely used is Gortex. Strips of Gortex (threads of foam-like material) are inserted into the lips; the lips do become somewhat larger after the procedure is completed but some users complain that their lips feel hard, not soft and supple. Some of these implants cannot be removed if a problem arises because the lip tissue grows into and around the implant. Possible complications include infection, migration or extrusion of the implants and lip asymmetry is a concern.

Another somewhat permanent solution is fat injections; a patient’s own fat is removed from usually the tummy or buttocks, washed and then re-injected into the lips. While this is probably a fairly safe modality, the fat tends to reabsorb rather quickly, deflating the lips.

Recently over the counter glosses, lipsticks, and other types of topical preparations have been introduced promising fuller, poutier lips with more definition and volume. Many cosmetic companies have jumped on this bandwagon promising the users that their special ingredients will produce full, luscious lips after a few weeks of use. In fact, there have been over 200 new products introduced to the marketplace in the last two years ranging in price from $6.99 to almost $40. Instead of traffic stopping lips, some of these topical products have produced burns, mouth sores and empty pockets.

Some cosmetic companies do use natural components in their formulas but some of the formulas may be misleading. No product can deliver the look of a collagen injection in a topical. How these products work is through the use of an irritating ingredient such as niacin, cinnamon, caffeine or peppermint; these ingredients may cause some temporary swelling via dilation of the blood vessels along with mild inflammation, giving the illusion of fullness. Some preparations require the user to rub the lips briskly for several minutes and this friction results in some degree of temporary swelling.

Many women and men want fuller lips because poutier lips make them feel sexier and more alluring. Consumers are willing to spend a lot of money to have “the look”; but not everyone agrees that the topicals deliver what they have promised. Dr. Sam Most, Chief of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle asked seven women to use a certain topical whose website says their product increases actual lip volume and contour an average of 40.7 percent; Dr. Most said, “In subjects who used the product as directed over a long term there was no visible change in the lips.”

Is there an actual difference in using topical applications that promise full, pouty lips or is lipstick and a liner enough? Maybe Yoki Ono, a saleswoman at a Madison Avenue designer boutique, quoted in the NY Times, has the answer: “You might as well get some extra-spicy Buffalo wings and eat them.”

Or better yet, save yourself a bundle of cash and brush your lips with a baby’s toothbrush and petroleum jelly for about a minute, your lips will be fuller and soft – guaranteed!

Cynthia is widely recognized as an expert in all natural facial fitness with over thirty years experience in health & beauty related fields. Or sometimes we just need to show of great skin that foundation hides during workdays and take on the natural glow. It's on days like this that you can throw in the palette for the "no-make-up". And yes, this look still needs a bit of makeup to pull off.

Most women assume that looking natural and glowing does not take much effort or skill. The opposite is true: Clean, glowing skin, just-pinched cheeks and subtly glossy lips need just the right amount of product, coverage and some fancy brushwork to achieve. Most makeup experts say that this no-makeup look could even need more color and a range of products just to appear as natural as possible.

However, when you don't have the time for blending colors or putting on false eyelashes, there are some tricks you can use to create your most natural look. You will need some excellent products and a few good-quality brushes and you can get started on creating this simple-girl look. Remember, less is more. Too much bronzer or a heavy lipstick can ruin the entire look easily.

The first products you will apply are a concealer and a matte foundation that blends well with your skin. Unless you are blessed with amazing skin, you can also replace the matte foundation with a few drops of tinted moisturizer which allows a subtle glow to shine through. Lightly pat concealer on blemishes and uneven skin patches. It would also be better to use a flat brush to apply concealer. If blemishes are near your eye area, choose a concealer a shade lighter than your face. If you are covering pimples, use another concealer that exactly matches your skin tone.

Apply a layer of liquid foundation in your skin tone if you need heaver coverage on darker spots or birthmarks. Let all of these set for a few minutes before applying the other products.

Lightly dust your entire face with a translucent powder to set the foundation. If you have oily skin, apply a primer or a mattifying product as your base before you apply foundation or tinted moisturizer. For combination skin, limit the application of mattifying products only on the parts that tend to be oily like on the nose and parts of your forehead. Don't pat powder on your cheeks to allow your natural oils to seep through and give you a soft glow.

Lightly put a small amount of pale matte eyeshadow on the eyelids and try not to use the shimmery kind. Sweep a darker color over the base and blend both colors so there are no visible lines. Brown and yellow based shadows work very well with the natural look. If you must use blush, choose a pale color and lightly sweep it across your cheekbones twice.

Use clear mascara on your lashes after you've curled them. If you need to use black or crown mascara, use only two coats at the most to prevent clumping. Dab a layer of lip tint over your lips for a hint of color. Apply a lip balm or gloss over the tint to set it and your "natural" face is done! Just remember to touch up your face with translucent powder once it gets too oily.

Michael Russell

Your Independent guide to Cosmetics

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Michael_Russell

Annie
Add me on Facebook
didn't check my new blogs? you don't know what you'r missing ;)
Nail Care Tips Blog
Lip Gloss Tips Blog
Eye Makeup Tips Blog
<!--

Women feel that it will age their skin, making it look drier and older than it actually is.

Your skin in its healthiest state, like hair and nails, should have a natural sheen, a subtle glow. When your makeup is too matte, it ages the skin just as quickly as if it had too much shine! A subtle shine can add “pop” to the eye area, highlight cheekbones beautifully, and give the appearance of fuller lips instantly.

After painting faces for almost sixteen years, I have to say I love to see women of all ages and skin tones wearing a little something reflective on their face. The key word here is “little”. I’m not talking about going out and buying metallic makeup to wear to work everyday. No body glitter, frosty lipstick, or shimmering face powders are allowed! The kind of shine I love the best is a ‘satin’ finish. Often, there does not even appear to be an actual ‘sparkly particle’ in the product, but it glows and shows off the skin beautifully. Products with this ‘satin’ finish catch light and give life to your complexion!

A few rules to keep in mind:

1 Create balance between your features by accenting only one or two of them with shine. For example: matte eye shadows with dewy lips, or satin-finish eye shadows with a traditional lipstick texture.

2 If your skin is dry or flaky, shimmery makeup wouldn’t be the best for you. Stick to dewy, creamy textures instead. This will give your skin a very healthy glow. Try Nars Cream Shadows and Blushes in addition to Stila Convertible Color.

3 If your skin is oily, look for creamy, slightly shimmery eye shadow colors that are smudge-proof. This will serve as a base color and help keep your powder shadows in place during the day ahead. Try Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Sticks and Stila Shadow Pots.

Remember, makeup is not permanent. It comes off! How lucky we are as women to have the ability to change the way we look so easily. If this all still seems a bit scary, a well-trained makeup artist can answer any questions and show you how to look your very best!

Sonja George is Senior Makeup Artist for Scott Miller – a salon, spa, and store in Rochester, NY (http://www.scottmillerstyle.com). If you like tanning, then it is advisable to purchase the best tanning lotion or tanning bed lotions on the market. One company that offers a great tanning lotion is a company called Bullfrog. They offer a complete line now in tanning bed lotions and sunless tanning products that will protect you from harmful rays and skin cancer. If you enjoy being outdoors, regardless of whether it's golfing, boating, fishing or whatever sport you enjoy, it is important to purchase the right product that will protect you from UVA rays.

Many tanning lotions on the market have great staying power and will give you protection for up to eight hours or longer. Whether it is a cream or lotion, you can go for most of the day without concerning yourself about a reapplication. If you have a problem with excessive perspiration, there are a lot of manufacturers that make no-drip products and Bullfrog is one of them. Or, if you spend time on a tanning bed at home or use a commercial booth, you should, as well, purchase a quality product for your own protection.

If you have kids that like to spend the day in the sunshine, there are many tanning lotions that are excellently-scented and non-greasy that are excellent for use on children. You can as well use these products on adults and you will love the lack of a greasy residue on your skin. Look for a product that produces an SPF that ranges from 15 to 45. Remember to always protect your skin from burning and UVA damage. The beach outdoors or indoor tanning beds are great places to get a tan, but have some peace of mind in the process!

By Terry Price- Give your body that protection it needs with only the best lotions - http://www.tanningbedslotionsupply.com/tanning-lotion.html -Do you need to remove that sunless tanning spray? http://www.tanningbedslotionsupply.com/removal-of-sunless-tanning-spray.html

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Terry_Price

Annie Ramsden
Apply Makeup Tips E-Group
<!--

Makeup Trends for Spring 2006

By Robert Closs

There's two words for makeup this spring. Think PINK! Not a traditional pink, though, but a more refined, dynamic pink!

Pinks in the past have been either bubble gum Betty or too pale and close to dead. The new makeup colors for spring 2006, however, have found their middle ground - more than visible on the lips but also refined and elegant, giving pink a new found respect.

Most progressive cosmetic lines are now on the pink bandwagon - coming out with luscious, pale, but dimensional pinks, taupey pinks or warm pinks, all which contain just a hint of yellow in the color mixture. This gives them their flesh tone and salmon warm richness. And these new expressive colors are now housed in sleek, slim compacts for busy women on the go.

Bobby Brown has "the express face" which contains three shadows, three lips stains, and a blush to help keep you perky throughout the day. The size of the color wells are perfect: not too tiny so that you run out before the next season, and not too giving so that you tire of the products. And don't be afraid of the new shimmery eye shadows that Bobby has available for women over 30! They're so refined, that if the skin is hydrated and the eye shadow is worn properly, crepeing will never be an issue.

Overall, the look for spring 2006 is fresh and colorful with an emphasis on lashes and gel liners, either worn thin and crisp or thicker at the end of the eye, smudging to a halt. The real skin look is still being respected too- that slightly over powdered look has been tossed in a shoe box and is now sitting on a shelf somewhere. And with the new breed of foundations and gel cream blushes available in multiple shades, achieving this fresh skin look has never been easier.

When I studied makeup in "81" the founders of Mac Cosmetics had not yet (through their frustration) revolutionized colors & formulations in North America. Foundations were overly watered down or heavily oil based - reminiscent of the salad dressing I used at home! Blushes were either loud or chalky, and some were so unrefined that they sat on the skin instead of looking like part of it. Silicone is now being called the new oil, and foundations glide on with superior coverage yet are extraordinarily light to the touch. This is something I have never seen before. Some silicone foundations set without powder, encouraging that natural flawless second skin look that women adore.

Blush for spring is still playfully visible, coordinating with your lipstick shade. The silicone cheek pots by STILA are from another world. Initially they behave like a cream, but before you can blink they've dried to a silky powder. Gone is the overly dewy wet cheek, now replaced with a satiny matt elegance.

On a final note, you should be able to find your signature shade of pink lipstick at the makeup counter very easily. Just remember two things: If you or the sales person must convince yourselves that the new shade you're wearing is kind of hot- it's not for you. You should love your lips pretty much after the first take. Secondly, make sure the depth of the lipstick is in harmony with the depth of your hair. Obviously blonds will have more fun wearing a lighter pink lipstick, whereas the dark haired diva may introduce some blue or smokey brown undertones in her version of pink. This is to accommodate the depth of her hair color which frames her face.

Welcome the new pink... it's hipper than you think!

Robert Closs is the founder and managing director of The School of Professional Makeup in Toronto, Canada. He has been a successful makeup artist for 25 years, and is currently appearing on Life Network’s popular makeover show "So Chic" with Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman.
For more makeup tips and advice, or to post your own tips, please visit my Makeup Blog.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Robert_Closs

Annie Ramsden
Apply Makeup Tips E-Group
<!--

And increase in self-confidence in the look can encourage you to focus your energy on other areas like family and career. There may me certain flaws in your body and face that makeup, diet and exercise can’t help mask. There you should look into the ultimate in makeover, i.e., cosmetic plastic surgery.

The advancement of corrective body and facial surgeries has made the cosmetic procedures easy, affordable and less invasive. This has led many to go for pure cosmetic procedures where aesthetic value comes first.
But, cosmetic procedures are not totally different from reconstructive procedures. Cosmetic surgery also considers your general health conditions and particular physical traits. That’s why you should not plunge into a procedure just for look alteration.

Of many cosmetic procedures collagen injection is a popular procedure embraced by many women to achieve that fuller and perfect lip, and to remove the facial wrinkles.

Collagen injections are all-purpose fillers to fix problems on the face. Collagen is filled into the areas that need plumping-up. For removal of wrinkles, scars, and different marks these are the most suitable stuffs. Collagen can add volume to face giving it smooth appearance.

We all have collagen, a kind of protein, between the skin and the underlying tissues. This collagen helps to build fascia, the network of fibers that gives skin its bounce, volume and softness. That’s why collagen injections are popular in celeb circles and administered as: collagen lip injection, facial collagen injections, buttock collagen injections and scar collagen injections.

Why do we need collagen injections?

Well, we have the collagen in our tissues. But its amount over ages goes on decrease after youth and the skin loses elasticity. Collagen injection helps replenish this condition. The idea behind injecting collagen is to replenish this underlying skin structure so that it regains its ability to bounce back. Collagen replacement therapy helps smooth facial lines as well as reduces the look of most types of scars. Taking a collagen injection is as easy as taking any other injection.

Rarely, it does involve some complications like bruising, redness and puffiness of skin. In severe cases, the collagen migrates to other parts of the body. But the complications can be avoided with proper consultation with a surgeon by doing collagen acceptance/rejection test in one’s body.
What are different types of collagen?

• Bovine collagen: Derived from the tissues of cow, the bovine collagen is very compatible with human skin. It has fewer cases of allergy and rejection. Zyderm is the most popular names in bovine collagen.

• Human collagen: It comes from a human donor. Human skin readily accepts this. Zyderm and Zyplast and the two most popular human collagen.

Harry John is an expert author. And it’s all the same news; i.e. three young, hopeful women trying several topical items hoping they will see noticeable changes in the plumpness of their lips. In truth, the results are so temporary; the user will never experience any substantial lip pouting.

Lips are soft tissue; they easily lose hydration and shrink when men and women reach a certain age. The area surrounding the lips is muscle. As the orbicularis orris muscle shrinks due to atrophy and no exercise, the lips begin to implode. They appear smaller because they are affected by the collapse of the mouth muscle into the soft tissue.

After a while, the lips look dormant; they become thinner and usually lose their well-accentuated borders and contours. Likely, small lines will invade the area where the border was once prominent. Women see little lines that disturb their lipstick and liner; lip putties and topical preparations will slightly help to “fill in the cracks” but these are only temporary.

Many women and some men will try soft tissue augmentation to enhance their lips. There are many injected types of filler offered by physicians; these, too, are temporary and may cause discoloration, lopsidedness and swelling.

Some fillers are human derived (cadaver material!); some are animal and non-animal sources. These materials are “purified” before use then dehydrated, re-hydrated and then either injected or pulled through tunnels underneath the lip. Does that sound scary? These methods and modalities will have to be repeated over and over again for the user to maintain the enhancement.

So how does one enlarge the lips without pain, recovery time and expense? If you are serious about protecting your lips, your face, here is a proven exercise to give new life to your mouth:

While standing in front of a mirror, put the heels of both hands together. Place your thumbs in your mouth in a “V” position. Push the lip muscle outward without creating any lines around the mouth or lip area. The entire upper lip surface should be smooth and oval. Compress the upper lip muscles against your thumbs and hold for a count of five seconds. Remove your thumbs, take a deep breath, exhale and repeat the above movement for 10 seconds. Again, remove your thumbs, take a deep breath and exhale. Repeat the above movement twice for another twenty seconds.

Stand back and look at your face…keep it still and relaxed while you experience the rush of oxygenated blood and strength to your upper lip. Watch closely as your mouth corners turn upward…and your lips feel fuller, now marvel at the new, appealing you.

Cynthia is widely recognized as an expert in natural facial fitness and has appeared on ABC’s popular morning TV show The View, Fit TV, KTLA Morning Show and Good Day L.A. Available in sticks and compacts, these provide very good facial coverage. This consistency and texture deliver a rich and perfect finish that can be applied easily resulting to a fine complexion.

Offering sheer and complete facial coverage, liquid foundations give the face a very natural appearance. Available in oil based and water based formulations, this is preferred by most women since it can be easily applied and matches the skin well, almost resembling the skin itself. To get a foundation that will perfectly match your complexion, make sure to select one that is based with the color yellow.

Dual active powder foundations are so called quick fix foundations, that starts as cream and is applied and spread over the face easily ending in a powder form. Having this function, it is a powder and a foundation all in one.

1. What foundation is best for my skin?

Facial foundation for normal skin

In the selection of a foundation for normal skin, there are a lot of things to be considered, as there are so many lines of cosmetic foundations available, and in various shades. Often, their main difference is their price. The label will be your best guide. Read the label and make sure it is for dry to normal skin and that it is nonacnegenic so that it will not clog your pores.

Facial foundation for acne prone or oily skin

For oily skin, the best foundation to use is water-based. These usually come in liquid form, and they offer sheer and total facial coverage, with the downside of lasting for only a maximum of four hours. This problem can be very well addressed by using a loose powder after application of the foundation to help the foundation last longer as well as absorb excess oils. A product labeled as oil controlling is great for oily skin. Again, choose a product that is nonacnegenic, as this will ensure you of unclogged pores and will not worsen your acne condition. For oily skin type, find labels such as oil free or oil controlling on a product - usually these products are water based.

Facial foundation for dry or sensitive skin

For dry or sensitive skin, cream based is often recommended, the ones with with moisturizing benefits. As they provide full coverage on the face, they too can stay longer. Keep in mind that before any makeup is applied on the face, the face should be cleaned thoroughly using a mild facial wash along with a moisturizing cream; this also enables one to apply the foundation easily as the moisturizer will help to smoothen the foundation. For dry skin, a moisturizing foundation is best, such labels as moisture rich or hydrating are to be looked for.

Foundation for combination skin

For combination skin, select a product labeled as skin balancing, which would be perfect for this kind of skin type. If you can’t find such a product, a combination of liquid foundation and a powder in translucent form will help take off the shine on your T-zone. For combination skin, you have to know if you have skin more on the oily side, or the dry side and select the appropriate formulation - foundations that are cream-to-powder based are recommended for this type of skin.

2. Choosing your foundation:

- Know what type of skin you have. Before you shop for the right foundation shade you need to determine first what formulation is right for your skin; is your skin dry? Oily? Or a combination of both?

- Remember to go without any foundation on. Your face should be clean so that you can easily test a shade on your face and see clearly whether it matches your skin tone or not.

- Pick out three or four shades that you think match your skin tone. They need to look as natural as possible. Usually, the yellowish based shades will give all skin tones a natural look. For a very light or fair skin, a pink shade of foundation will be best.

-Test the foundation by applying a small amount near your jawline (not on your wrist!), then decide.

- Study the shade of your foundation as to the shade on your jawline. Examine it carefully with a mirror in an open window, where there is natural light. The shade to choose is the shade that you can not see, as it blends well on your skin.

It is best that you buy a foundation in a small container first. Once you're home, try it out again. Return it if you feel the shade isn’t right. Then if it is perfect for you, you can go ahead and buy a bigger container.

For more great Foundation related articles and resources check out http://foundation.makeupplace.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=John_Morris

Annie Ramsden
Apply Makeup Tips E-Group
<!--

We all have it to varying degrees, and it seems to get worse as we get older in many cases. So, should we just resign ourselves to the fact that it is here to stay, or is there a way to fight and get rid of cellulite?

Thankfully, the answer is yes, we can fight cellulite, or at least the appearance of cellulite, through several therapeutic treatments that are available on the market today. It is not, however, a one-time deal. Once you stop the treatments, the cellulite will inevitably return. So, the treatment of cellulite is an ongoing commitment, and it should be incorporated as part of your daily beauty regimen for consistent and lasting reduction in it's appearance.

Some of the over-the-counter cellulite treatments actually do quite a good job of significantly reducing the appearance of cellulite. In order to achieve maximum effectiveness with these products, it is imperative that you massage the affected areas vigorously for a few minutes when applying the treatment. In addition to the smoothing and tightening
ingredients in the treatment, the massaging stimulates circulation and helps break the collagen bands that have constricted and resulted in the "puckered" look of the affected areas. The most effective ingredients, and what gives these products their smoothing effects, are caffeine and aminophylline. Many also add seaweed extract as well, but this is not the most effective ingredient in the product.

In addition to the cellulite creams, lotions and gels, there is a procedure called endermology that has many women reporting extraordinary results. It is actually a large mechanical pressure device that uses a technique similar to the process of a rolling pin rolling out dough to make cookies.
This action kneads the problem areas with substantial pressure to break down the aforementioned collagen bands, and smooth the sponginess and puckering out for an even and toned appearance. Drawbacks are it is expensive and does require return visits for maintenance, it can be an uncomfortable and even slightly painful process, and it may result in some temporary bruising.

Another option is oral herbal or medicinal remedies for cellulite. Beware though. There have not been significant studies or proof verifying whether these products actually produce results. I cannot recommend investing in or experimenting with these newer products until substantial findings or proof are published regarding their effectiveness.

So, what else causes cellulite? This question is still the subject of scientific debate. We definitely know that it mostly affects women, so there is much speculation that the underlying cause is hormonal in nature. Many other studies suggest it is related to age, diet, genetics, and fitness/level of activity. It has been noted that strength and toning
exercises, as well as steady weight maintenance will help with the appearance of cellulite. Frequent weight fluctuation, high fat diets, and even excessive carbonated beverages have been some of the suspected culprits as well.

Whatever the cause, if you want to minimize these unsightly dimples, there are options out there for you that are effective and affordable. New breakthroughs are being made every day in the field of cosmetic enhancement products, so we may soon see another product that blows them all away. It may be tomorrow, for all we know!

Visit Eliminate Cellulite for how to get eliminate cellulite using inexpensive products and techniques. Plastic surgeons say the most often requested lips they would like to imitate are Angelina Jolie's. And who can blame them? You can't deny the sensuality and femininity of a full pair of lips. Lips that are fuller can really balance out the face,
and add to the attractiveness and symmetry of the overall facial structure. Full, soft looking lips seem to compliment and soften any woman's face and bring out their most feminine, sensual and sultry features.

You may be one of the lucky women who has been blessed with a perfectly pouty and full smile, but if you're reading this article you are probably seeking to enlarge, enhance, or otherwise increase the volume and fullness of your lips. But who really has the money or inclination to go have a costly, and many times painful, procedure performed which may not even
produce permanent results? Not to mention, most of these procedures are, in fact, not permanent, and do require recurring visits every six months.

This can really add up, and the results may not even be as natural as you desire. So the question is, if you want fuller, larger, sexier lips, what are your nonsurgical choices, if any that are safe AND effective?

It seems like every day a new cosmetics company is popping up on the internet claiming to have the one lip enlargement product that really works. How are you to tell which of these lip enhancement products really lives up to it's claims? We all know that most of them probably are just a waste of good money. Most lip enlargement creams, gels and glosses work by actually irritating the outer layer of cells, causing it to swell slightly and turn a deeper color. Other lip enhancers use light reflection through high shine or gloss to trick the eye and make the lips appear fuller. Most of these do not result in any truly noticeable difference to the naked eye, and do not last more than one hour.

There are a few products that have been shown to help increase moisture and volume over time with repeated use (for reviews and suggestions
http://www.cosmeticsgalore.com/best-cosmetics-online-reviews.html ).
Do not expect a dramatic increase by the use of these products alone though. The best, most dramatic natural lip enlargement can be achieved through combining the use a quality topical lip product along with a lip enlargement pump. A lip enlargement pump is a small hand-held device that gently suctions the lips outward, pulling fliud in to the lips and creating a dramatically fuller set of lips for a few hours at a time. They are inexpensive, and you only need to buy it
once and you're done. I do however recommend you purchase a few so you have one for home and one for on the road. The best part about this device is that, over time and with regular use, you will notice your lip size really has increased, even after the initial effect of lip "plumping" has worn off.

One word of caution though, if the pump is used for too long with each individual treatment, or the suction is too vigorous and severe, it will cause your lips to bruise. So start slow, and be sure you are not in discomfort as this is a sign the lips may bruise. Be cautious and mindful of this, and stick to the recommended treatment times. If the suction is too much, reduce the pressure by releasing the nozzle until it is a comfortable "tugging" sensation. This device is truly a great way to achieve a dramatic increase in lip size, and is a great "special occasion" beauty tool. It is a Hollywood standby for photo shoots and a favorite trick of models and actresses to get the lips extra plump and full.

Another tip for maintaining moisture and fullness of the lips, besides using a good lip enhancer and a lip pump (if so desired for dramatic effects), is to keep you body hydrated. Be sure to drink plenty of water at all times, and be sure to apply your lip product whenever it wears off. Keeping the lips hydrated is part of the trick to keeping them as full and flushed as possible, so they stand out, instead of blending in with the rest of your face. Eyes give your face energy and individuality. They do not have to be a certain size or shape to be considered pretty - all eyes have their own unique beauty. When makeup is applied to look natural it will bring out the eye’s true color and enhance the eye’s beauty. When you feel good about your makeup you will be more confident and will have one less thing to worry about.

A subtle application of eyeliner, shadows and mascara work together to create magic and make your eyes look their best.

Eye Shadow

Eye shadow is meant to highlight and define the eyes. Eye shadow is used to create depth to bring out the beauty of the eyes. A dark color used on the lid will make the eye appear smaller, while a lighter color will make it appear larger. That is what eye shadow is about creating illusions. These are the basic techniques for the following eye shapes:

Small eyes: Don’t use too much shadow or liner – it will make you eyes look smaller. Apply a light color on eyelid, use a darker color in the crease and use a highlighter under the brow.

Large eyes: Wear darker shadow on the lid and extend it to the crease. Use a flat color under the brow to highlight.

Deep-set eyes: Use light colors on the eyelid and under the brow. Use a medium color in the crease. Emphasize the outer corners with shadow.

Wide-set eyes: Use darker colors on the inner corners of the eye.

Hooded eyes: Apply light colors on the lid. Use darker colors from the center of the eyelid to the outer corners and blend.

Round eyes: Make round eyes longer by using color all around and extending toward the outer corners.

Asian eyes: Apply highlighter under the brow. Use light shadow on the inner half of the lid and a darker color on the outer half.

1. Light colors cause the eyes to open, dark colors will cause the eyes to recede

2. If you have very light skin avoid dark shades

3. Be careful with shimmer – they will bring attention to imperfections and wrinkles.

4. The eye area is the first to show age don’t tug on the skin.

Eyeliners:

Eyeliners are meant to define the eyes so they should do just that, not be the focal point of your makeup. Eyeliners come in various colors and forms liquid, pencil etc. Keep the eyeliner natural. Pencils are available in many colors (for the best look stick to black or brown) and can be sharpened for a fine line. For a smudged effect use a sponge tip shadow applicator or an eye shadow brush. When your pencils are too soft refrigerate them. When they are too hard soften them by holding them between your fingers.

To line the eye, start on the lower lid, just beneath the lashes. When you are finished always smudge the line with your sponge. Stay as close to the lash line as possible. On the upper lid, draw a line form the inner corner to the outer corner, thickening the line toward the outer corner. After the age of 40 keep the line in between the lashes.

Mascara and the creation of beautiful lashes:

Mascara frames your eyes and can make your face come alive. Mascara softly accentuates the eye while thickening and darkening the lashes; it is the finishing touch for eyes. There are several different types to choose from, thickening, and waterproof to smudge proof. Waterproof will need a special remover and smudge proof will wash off easily. It is not a good idea to wear waterproof mascara for extended periods of time since it has a tendency to dry the lashes.

Select a shade of mascara that complements your coloring. Dark shades on pale eyes with brown lashes will darken them and will look harsh. Stay away from blues and other colors since they will ruin your look.

Lashes that are hard to curl may need the help of an eyelash curler. Curl your lashes before you apply mascara – hold for ten to twenty seconds.

To apply mascara look straight into your mirror with your chin slightly lifted so you can see your lashes. Insert the wand only once and twist, don’t pump. Pumping can break the brush bristles and distribute the mascara unevenly and will dry out the mascara faster. Start by rolling the wand from root to tip in an upward motion. Reinsert the brush and apply again. If your eyelashes are thick and long they may clunk together. If this happens let them dry and then separate them with the corner of an eyebrow brush.

Sheila Dicks is a wardrobe and image consultant who teaches women how to look slimmer by dressing to suit their body type. So don't try it five minutes before leaving to a big party. Andrea lashes are great and they are available inexpensively at the drugstore.

Keep a piece of paper handy to hold the lashes, and a magnifying mirror, which makes the job a lot easier.
Using a tweezer, dip the base end of the lashes into the glue, then place the lashes as close to the baseline of your own as you can, filling in wherever you want the greatest impact (generally, the mid to outer lashes look fabulous in false lashes). Press gently, but firmly with something blunt. Hold the lash in place for about 5 seconds until the glue has a chance to hold.

Let the glue dry, and then apply a dark eyeliner to camouflage the line of the fake lashes and then apply your mascara. The mascara will help blend your own lashes with the fake ones, and make your eyes look fuller and larger.

To remove, gently pull them off with tweezers.

Annie Ramsden
Apply Makeup Tips E-Group
Apply Makeup Tips Blog
<!--

But if your nails are basically soft, buy any good nail strengthener that is available in the market and apply it on your nails. But do take care of the cuticles while doing so, as we do not want them to harden too.

The cuticles protect the nails and require attention too. Do not damage them by pushing them back constantly. If at all they are in bad shape, gently apply oil or a good cuticle cream to heal the rough edges.

It would be a good idea to keep your nails fairly short to avoid breakage or any other sort of damage. Be especially careful when trying to open tin cans or bottle tops, as your nails are obviously quite delicate and meant for better things.

Ridged or flaky nails may be the result of washing your hands in hard water or the use of a particular detergent. It would be a good idea to use a cream polish remover in such cases or better still, give your nails a breather and do not apply polish for awhile.

A ready reckoner for a manicure

1. Never ever use metal implements for a manicure.
2. Start by removing the old varnish with a good nail polish remover.
3. Take an emery board and use the rough surface to shape the nails. But do it gently and carefully so as not to file down the sides too steeply. Use the other side to smoothen out the ragged edges. Always remember to hold the emery board at a slight angle to the surface of the nail to prevent flaking and file in one direction only – from each side to the centre.
4. Now put your fingertips in a soapy solution and scrub gently. But do not soak them. Make sure that you dry them thoroughly after they feel smooth. Also be careful not to damage fingernails when wet.
5. It is now time to use a cuticle cream or lotion which should be applied gently around the cuticle. You can do this with the help of an ear bud or a cotton wool tipped orange stick. Apply the cream gently, as this is the most delicate portion of the nail.
6. Now clean the nails once again with a good nail polish remover.
7. Then apply a base coat and give it time to dry completely.
8. Next you can apply a good varnish of your choice. To do this, take out the brush from the nail polish bottle and make an outline of a half-moon on your nail. Then spread the colour in deft broad strokes from the beginning of the half-moon to the tip of the nail. Use the same method for all the nails. Remember that practice will make you perfect.
9. Remove a thin hairline of colour with the help of your thumbnail, from the edges to prevent chipping.
10. After the polish is completely dry, you can apply a topcoat for added gloss and protection.
11. Lastly, use a good hand cream or a hand and body lotion to massage your hands right from the tips of your fingers to your wrists, as you would smooth on a pair of gloves. Wipe off any excess cream.
12. Enjoy your brand new pair of hands.

Annie Ramsden
Apply Makeup Tips E-Group
Apply Makeup Tips Blog
<!--

Brushes generally allow you to use much less lipstick.

The colors that suit you are:

* Light blondes can use wines, berry's and mauves. They also suit cappuccino colours.

* Golden blondes should use corals, apricots or peachy hues.

* Blondes with olive skin tones are best suited to warm peaches, browns or terracotta's.

* Brunettes suit terracottas, cinnamon's and brown tinted reds.

* Red heads can use warm terracotta colours, cinnamon's and peachy browns.

Annie Ramsden
Apply Makeup Tips E-Group
Apply Makeup Tips Blog
<!--

Take stock
to be sure that you don't fall into any of the makeup traps
below.

Mismatched Foundation

Your foundation should not be a different color from the
rest of your body. Really, it shouldn't. This is an easy
problem to fix. March yourself down to the make-up counter
at your favorite department store and let the salesperson
do her job. It's her job, after all. Don't be intimidated,
you don't need to buy the whole product line.

Blue Eye shadow

Blue eye shadow works for some people. Little girls in
dance recitals. Guests at 1970s-themed parties. Ethereal
looking supermodels. If you aren't one of the
aforementioned people then don't wear it. Enough said.

Dark Circles Under Eyes/Obvious Under Eye Concealer

This is a chicken or egg problem. You're right, the
circles aren't great. But neither are orange crescents
under your eyes. Play around with a few shades of
concealer to see what really works best for you.

Different products work differently on different people.
Just because one brand works for your friend, doesn't
mean it'll be flattering on you. Make sure you're
getting enough sleep and talk to your doctor. Sometimes
those circles are a sign of allergies or a vitamin
deficiency.

Obvious Lip liner

This is a look. It's just not a flattering one. Lip
liner is intended to add dimension to thin or small
lips, to lengthen the wear of your lip color and to
prevent your lipstick from "bleeding" onto your face.
It is not intended to create a visible outline.

Inferior products in your dressing area

Most of us are not starlets with dressing rooms and
make-up artists at our disposal. But that doesn't mean
we don't deserve to look like starlets with dressing
rooms and make-up artists. Invest in good lighting
around your vanity. Stock it with quality make-up
brushes and limit your make-up collection to products
you'll actually use. That way, your budget can be used
to buy better cosmetics.

You're worth it

Add a couple of extra minutes, a wee bit more effort
and a little money into your daily makeup routine. It's
not vain to spend a few dollars on or a few minutes at
your vanity. Put on your prettiest smile, bat your
beautiful lashes and show the world that you like who
you are.

Put your best face forward... you don't have to hide
behind crow's feet and lip lines...

-----------------------------------------------------------
Allison Saunders is a MAC qualified Make-up Artist and the
author of an amazing new course, "Hollywood Makeup Secrets"
a simple step-by-step video system for maximizing your inner
and outer beauty potential. At this time of year your complexion is paler, so wearing too dark a shade can look fake. Shop around for a new foundation, find a color that matches up with the skin on your neck.Try a hydrating foundation, which moisturizes dry winter skin as well as evening out skin tone.

You probably won't need as much blush in January as you would in July, as the chilly wind will give you your own natural glow. So rub a little cream blush, which is easier to blend than powder, onto the apples of your cheeks.

Longing for that sun-kissed radiance? Instead of trying to re-create it with self-tanners, dust a bronzing powder over your forehead, nose, and cheekbones after you've put on your foundation and blush. The powder will help set the rest of your makeup and if you just add bronzer to these three areas, you will have this natural glow -- because these are the places the sun tans you first.Use a good quality bronzing powder as it's worth the cash because the pigment is more intense, which means a little goes a long way.

Eyes:

Now that you've got the perfect complexion, you can get creative. Winter is great because you can wear makeup shades that are too intense for the light summer months. Pair smoky eyes with natural lips, or neutral shadow and eyeliner with darker dramatic lips.

For bold eyes, choose a color and use a shade of it on your lid and then go darker in your socket and along your eyelashes. Black and gray are the obvious smoky picks but don't forget navy, dark green, or burgundy.

Cover your entire lid with a pale shimmery shadow, then finish with a slick of black liquid liner along your top eyelashes. Liquid liner can be tricky unless you are a pro. Pull your eyelid taut when you draw the line and start from the middle to the outer edge, then the inner corner out to the middle, so you draw the line in two stages. Try and get as close to the lashes as possible and remember, practice makes perfect. Try to use a waterproof eyeliner.

Lips:

Winter's not a great time to wear lip gloss, because the wind can blow your hair onto your lips, getting it sticky. Instead a creamy lipstick with moisturizing qualities in a rich berry shade, will bring the desired results.

GLOW ON GIRL

To finish off your sun kissed look, don't forget to put your glow on. Break that cycle of dryness and moisturize! Hydrate your body with a good moisturizer and opt for one that has a hint of shimmer. Add a few drops of self-tanner to your body lotion to maintain a beautiful healthy glow.

Annie Ramsden
Apply Makeup Tips E-Group
Apply Makeup Tips Blog
<!--

You need to pick one or the other & downplay the one rejected. How to pick? Simply, pick what people compliment you on! If you choose to focus on your lips, you'll want to go bright. Red is hot for night, as are dark pinks. Just stay away from brown & make sure you keep your eye makeup soft & simple. If you want to play up your eyes, go all out with liner, shadow, mascara & even false eyelashes. Just make sure you stick with light lips capped with a light gloss.

Things to remember on your way out...
Don't forget these 3 things, apply liner & lipstick and powder your oily areas (forehead, chin & nose). If you are posing for a picture remember those 3 things and do them immediately before posing; & stand a bit sideways with one foot in front of the other -- you'll look 10 pounds thinner. Trust that. It's the red carpet stars' secret.

Applying your natural looking blush...
What do your cheeks look like after you've been out in the cold or exercising at the gym? For a quick test, pinch your cheeks & wait a second. Another trick is to try to match your lip color. Those are the tones to replicate. For day, choose a lighter color than you would at night, and in winter go for pink shades while in summer opt for peachy, warm hues. Apply foundation, eye color & lipstick. Blush should be your last makeup step. Determine your face shape: are you oval, heart, round, long, or square? Knowing this helps you determine where it's best to apply the blush. Use a professional full brush instead (I like MAC's blush brush No. 116), but don't use the same brush you use for your powder, forget that barbie-sized blush brush that comes with the blush. Tap any excess powder off your brush before you use it, Sweep color in an arc following the line of your cheekbone up from the apple of your cheek to your hairline. Keep color light & blended. You want a wash of color, rather than an obvious line. For a sun-kissed sheen: dab a small bit of bronzer powder on your forehead, chin & nose. Make sure it doesn't look like a stripe.

Get rid of those circles...
Use a proper concealer. Choose concealer that's a shade lighter than your foundation. And if your circles are very dark, go 2 shades lighter. You might be choosing a concealer that's too light if you are getting a 'raccoon look.' Be sure to apply stick concealers with your finger, not out of the tube.

Don't forget your lips...
Leave your pinks in the drawer during the summer. Peach tinged lip colors look terrific against bronzed skin. If you have a lip lining pencil that is rather hard, try using it over lips that have been prepared with a good coating of lip balm. The pencil will color the lips easily and has lasting power as well. (And don't simply line them; color your entire lips with the pencil). To have a fuller upper lip, outline the lips with a pencil that is the same shade as your lips. Now on the center of the upper lip, use a brown pencil and draw a second line. Apply lip color and the brown will blend right in... But your top lip will definitely look fuller.

Annie Ramsden
Apply Makeup Tips E-Group
Apply Makeup Tips Blog
<!--

The no-makeup look is a sure winner-it is safe but never boring. It's all about naturally made-up faces-glowing skin, flushed cheeks, just-bitten pouty lips which will make you look simple, yet stunning!

1- Try to start with an oil-free moisturizer. Apply to the entire face. Let it set a few minutes.

2- Choose a concealer that gives good coverage. Using a flat, square-shaped brush, apply it ever-so-delicately directly to the uneven areas. Let it set a few seconds. Look in the mirror, if you still see redness or blue tones coming through, repeat the technique. Remember, you must use a gentle, light touch; you don't want to clump on concealer. The goal is a light painting of makeup to cover any patchiness.

3- Skip foundation, the layering on of too much product can look artificial.

4- If the concealer looks at all rough or dry, take a bit of your oil-free moisturizer and gently pat it over the concealer. Again, let it set a few seconds.

5- Use a blotting powder with a velour puff to set the concealer by softly placing it over the area. Don't drag the puff or use a brush to apply the powder, as you're liable to pull the concealer right off.

6- For the best blush, throw away the "suck in your cheeks" technique because, chances are, it won't really work unless a makeup artist does it.

7- Use a fluffy brush to sweep color all over your cheeks. Apply some on your forehead and on the bridge of your nose to make you look sun-kissed. Do this in natural light to make sure you do the job right-bathroom light tends to mislead.

8- For a perfect lip color pick a brown-pink shade. This complements perfectly all-natural lip colors. If you're on the morena side, berries will also help brighten up your sallow undertones.

Tip: Prep lips with a moisturizing balm before applying color, it prevents lips from looking dry and cracked.

Annie Ramsden
Apply Makeup Tips E-Group
Apply Makeup Tips Blog
<!--

This application technique gives a perfectly smooth canvas upon which to create. What’s really great about the pressed powder is that it has no talc - corn starch is the main absorbing ingredient.

Start your starlet eye look with a powder shadow in a sheer wash over your whole eyelid, and then blend the lash line into your contour and right into your top lash line. For evening, add Black eyeliner along your top lash line, and smudge the eye shadow along your bottom lash line. Use pencil to define the brow and 2 coats of mascara on top for day. For night, add an extra coat on top, and to really go for rock star eyes along your bottom lashes.
For wickedly delicious cheeks ... define the cheek brush on the cheek bone, but the essential element of this look is to use a good shade over top for subtly wicked shimmer of virtuous envy.
To balance this Look, Have a celestial lip-look proportion - for daytime start with lip liner, add lipstick and complete this natural lip look with gloss in the center of your lips, top + bottom.
